After years of non-profit experience in a range of capacities: board member,
staff person, volunteer, and donor, Diane recognized the need of many
non-profit organizations to access resources that would help them address
common organizational problems, raise more money than they had before, and be
more effective in fulfilling their mission. These critical organizational
issues were present in every organization she had served, and most of those
observed, regardless of the size or particular mission of the organization.
She worked with several youth organizations, counseling troubled teens, and
providing junior and senior high youth with opportunities to expand their
experiences through constructive activities and learning experiences. She
served on the board of an inner city economic development organization. And she
worked as a regional staff member for Habitat for Humanity International,
providing affiliates in four states with organizational development and
training needs. While with Habitat for Humanity International, she developed an
affiliate organizational assessment tool to map organizational strengths and
weaknesses, and create a workable plan to address them. The impact of this
process and a targeted effort to address organizational capacity became very
clear. Recognizing this, Diane moved to creating an organization that would
concentrate exclusively on helping non-profit organizations grow.
Diane's areas of expertise lie in organizational development, training,
leadership and facilitation. She also does considerable work in the area of
resource development. Diane intentionally connects all of advance4 LLC's
projects to the overall capacity and ability of the organization served,
striving to ensure that each client is left with more resources, better
systems, or increased capabilities than prior to the engagement.
Diane has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Writing from Miami
University in Oxford, Ohio, and a Masters Degree in Church History and Theology
from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. She is an
award winning public speaker and published writer. Her hobbies include cooking
and reading.
