Situation: A Cincinnati based mid-sized non-profit offered a fantastic
technical skill training and employment support program. Unfortunately, very
few people within the community were utilizing this resource. With grant
funding dependent on the organization serving a minimum number of people in
2004, the organization desperately needed to increase the numbers of
individuals using their program.
Strategic Solution: The organization engaged advance4 LLC to create a
system for outreach and client engagement. The program was profiled. The
current process for outreach was assessed and documented and staff interviewed.
Limited market research was completed to assess local awareness of the program.
A professional, branded, and yet inexpensive brochure was developed and
produced, and a strategic process for recruiting potential service users was
developed based on relational, one-to-one marketing concepts.
The Results: Program participation achieved a 200% increase over
a period of 10 months, meeting grant requirements and significantly increasing
the organization's impact in the community.
